Dominic began singing Folk Songs in late 1960’s with appearances at Traynors and venues around Melbourne. As a teenager along with two friends he formed the Folk Lore Trio playing in venues around the inner suburbs of Melbourne. Performing with a female friend as a duo singing folk songs, they earned their way to the finals of the Saturday Television talent show New Faces. A growing family and responsibilities intervened but Dominic continued singing, learning more songs and honing his guitar skills over the ensuing years.
Dominic plays folk acoustic guitar finger- style accompanying himself as he sings traditional Australian, Irish, Scottish, English and American folk songs. He also performs contemporary folk songs written by artists such as England’s Graham Miles and Stan Graham; and Canada’s Rita MacNeil .
More recently, since January 2014 Dominic has performed at many clubs in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. He is also part of a trio performing as the Three D’s.
Venues include Father’s in the Chapel Cranbourne, The Ringwood Folk Club, Guildford, Nar Nar Goon Acoustic sessions, Selby Folk Club, with occasional spots at Berwick & District, Upwey and similar venues.
